Three GSS Students Named 2023 Boren Scholars

The Department of Germanic & Slavic Studies is proud to share three students have been named Boren Flagship Scholars. The students, Mariah Cady, Siminette Kolodka, and Caroline Solomon, will commit to working in the federal government for at least one year after graduation in exchange for up to $25,000 in funding. 

Cady is a fourth-year student majoring in Russian and International Affairs and triple minoring in German, geography, and TESOL. Kolodka is a fourth-year student majoring in International Affairs with a minor in Russian and a certificate in Global Studies. Solomon is a fourth-year student majoring in Russian and Environmental Economics and Management. 

This is the third year in a row that the University of Georgia has been named a top-performing institute for Boren Scholars and is ranked fifth in the nation.
