Our Program No prior Russian is required to join this exciting experiential learning adventure in Armenia and Georgia. During the program the students will study Russian with Yerevan State University and Tbilisi State University, visit 5 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, a number of important museums, gorgeous mountainous landscapes, and ancient archeological sites. They will also live for six weeks in Yerevan and Tbilisi, two architecturally unique cities, and enjoy one of the most famous cuisines in Europe. Coursework Students earn 9 to 11 credit hours RUSS 3550 Contemporary Issues in Russian Society and Culture (taught in English): 3 credit hours Russian language courses (1001 and 1002, or 2001 and 2002, or 2011 and 2012, or 3001 and 3002, or 4001 and 4002): 6 to 8 credit hours Cost Estimated cost of ~$3,050 includes: $300 deposit, accommodation, instruction and textbooks, ground transportation, day- and weekend-long cultural activities, international health insurance, breakfasts and lunches in Armenia, breakfasts in Georgia, and some other group meals. Additional costs Airfare (~ $1800-2000), Food (~ $100/wk), personal expenses, UGA tuition ($326/credit hour for in-state students in 2024), mandatory UGA fees ($98). Financial Aid Students can use Hope/Zell scholarships to cover the cost of tuition, and any German, Russian, or Slavic studies majors/minors can apply for a Kicklighter Travel Grant. Also consider the OGE travel scholarship, Experiential Learning Scholarship, the Franklin college scholarship (for those majoring or minoring in Franklin), and The Gilman award (for Pell recipients).
