It consists of the following: 3 letters of recommendation official transcripts a statement of purpose a recent writing sample in German, approx. 5-7 pages, academic in nature [seminar papers, essays, and the like]. Please do not submit entire theses. candidate Interview Upon receipt of a completed application, the department will schedule an interview with the applicant. The interview will consist of two parts: a) if applicable: an Oral Proficiency Interview (in German) to determine that the applicant's language level is at the minimum requirement of B2 (CEFR) / Advanced Low (ACTFL). b) a discussion of the applicant's writing sample (in English)
