The Erika C. and Ward B. Lewis Award for German Studies

The Erika C. and Ward B. Lewis Award will be given to one or two German students each academic year for study at the Ludwig-Maximilian-Universität in Munich, Germany.

The Lewis Award celebrates Erika and the late Ward Lewis's passion for the arts, seeking to inspire younger generations of students through a sustained personal encounter with Germany's rich artistic and cultural traditions.

Known for its museums, art galleries, and performing arts, Munich is a vibrant and welcoming city. The Bavarian capital is home to about 1.5 million people, and houses the World Class Bavarian Opera and Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. Students can easily access the nearby Alps, castles, lakes, and many festivals and cultural events.
