Magnus Tomasevic | 2026 I have always wanted to know what it is like working abroad, and the German American Exchange Program (GAE) gave me that exact opportunity. I was paired with the US tax team at EY, a company in Eschborn, Germany. The company language was English, but many of the documents I worked on were in German. This created a unique environment that I would not have in the US. We also visited two cities through the exchange. While in Berlin, we toured the US Consulate General, and in Munich we saw the Bundestag and Bundesrat. My language abilities definitely grew over the summer, and I have a deeper understanding of what it is like working in Germany. As I look for future jobs, Germany has now become a contender as country I want to work in.
