Come join our Discussion, special screening, & Q&A with a German Filmmaker at the University of Georgia on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022 at 11:00 in the Tate Theatre.

Germanic & Slavic Studies at the University of Georgia hosts  discussion, special screening, & Q&A with award-winning German Filmmaker

Discussion and Q&A (in English) with filmmaker and Max Kade Foundation Artist-in-Residence Ilker Çatak will be facilitated by moderator/discussant Dr. Berna Gueneli (Associate Professor of German at UGA and discussant Dr. Antje Ascheid, Associate Professor of Theater and Film at UGA). We will learn first-hand from the filmmaker about his career milestones and watch examples from his work. He will give insights about his move from making commercials, to studying and working in film school, to writing and directing for TV and the cinema after his graduation. The event includes the screening of his Student Academy Award-winning Short Fidelity (2015).

Open to all, notably Entertainment and Media Studies, Film Studies, and German students. There is no admission to this event.
